Carrying the theme Make Your Mark, the 10th edition of the Asia Pacific Media Forum (APMF) marked a defining moment for the marketing, advertising, and media industry in the region. Held from 1 to 3 May 2024, the forum brought together stakeholders from across Asia Pacific to convene, exchange perspectives, and explore actionable insights shaping the future of media and brand engagement.
Organized by the Association of Asia Pacific Advertising Media (AAPAM), APMF 2024 demonstrated how a long-running industry platform continues to evolve without losing its core purpose. Over three days, the forum hosted more than 1,000 participants, featured 78 speakers, and delivered 47 sessions designed to bridge strategy, creativity, and technology.
The forum also reflects Alpha Seven’s

The Meaning Behind Make Your Mark
Rather than positioning itself as a slogan, Make Your Mark functioned as a guiding concept. The theme encouraged participants to think beyond short-term tactics and consider how brands, media owners, agencies, and technology players contribute lasting value to the industry.
Across sessions and formats, the idea of “mark-making” was framed as responsibility as much as impact. Discussions centered on how decisions around data, creativity, distribution, and technology influence not only brand performance, but also consumer trust and industry sustainability.
Scale and Structure of the Forum
APMF 2024 was structured to balance depth with accessibility. The three-day program allowed participants to move between keynote sessions, panel discussions, and more focused learning environments. This structure supported both high-level perspective and practical application.
The forum’s scale was reflected not only in attendance numbers but also in the diversity of its participants. Brand owners, agencies, publishers, platforms, and technology providers were represented, creating a cross-industry environment where dialogue extended beyond siloed viewpoints.
APMF Lab: Learning Beyond the Main Stage
One of the most anticipated highlights of the 10th edition was the return of APMF Lab, which came back after a six-year hiatus. Designed as a master class format, APMF Lab offered participants a more intimate and focused learning experience.
The Lab featured four dedicated rooms hosting 20 sessions in total, with each sessions accommodating up to 100 participants. Topics ranged from brand storytelling, and distribution strategies to the role of technology in shaping consumer engagement. A key focus was how distribution channels increasingly function as brand interfaces, influencing both perception and purchasing decisions.
By combining theory with practical insight, APMF Lab reinforces the forum's commitment to actionable learning rather tha conceptual discussion alone.
Speakers and Industry Voices
APMF 2024 brought together a lineup of speakers representing global, regional, and local perspectives. Among the highlighted speakers were Kentaro Kimura, Chief Creative Officer and Corporate Officer of Hakuhodo Inc.; Anny Havercroft, Head of Global Business Marketing SEA at TikTok; and Budiono, Managing Director and AI Lead at Accenture.
They were joined by regional leaders, practitioners, and strategists who contributed grounded perspectives shaped by real-world experience. Together, the speaker lineup reflected APMF’s role as a forum where global thinking meets regional relevance.
Venue as an Enabler of Experience
The forum was hosted at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Centre, a venue selected for its ability to support multiple program formats within a single integrated space. Conference halls, labs, exhibition areas, and networking zones were designed to encourage movement and interaction across sessions.
By housing key activities under one roof, the venue supported continuity between discussion and application. Participants could transition easily from plenary sessions to focused labs, reinforcing the forum’s emphasis on connected learning. It also highlighted our creative event services in Bali, connecting every program area into one cohesive experience.
Technology as a Conversation, not Just a Tool
Technology emerged as one of the defining discussion threads at APMF 2024, with artificial intelligence at the center of the conversation. Across sessions and panels, speakers explored how generative AI is reshaping media, marketing, and communications, not as a replacement for creativity, but as a tool that requires human judgment, strategic intent, and ethical consideration.
Generative AI was discussed in practical terms, from its ability to support ideation and content development to its role in improving performance and efficiency. At the same time, conversations consistently returned to the importance of human oversight, accountability, and values, reinforcing the idea that technology should enhance decision-making rather than automate it blindly.
Beyond AI theory, the forum also showcased emerging applications shaping future consumer experiences. V2 Indonesia, an event partner, presented innovations including robotics and interactive virtual humans within the Immersive Playground, offering participants a tangible look at how digital and physical interactions may converge.
Discussions around data and automation were supported by examples from platforms such as Xapads, which highlighted the role of AI and machine learning-driven programmatic engines in modern advertising ecosystems. Meanwhile, Indosat Digital Analytics demonstrated how large-scale data processing and analytics can translate complex datasets into actionable business insights.
Together, these conversations framed technology not as a spectacle, but as an evolving layer within industry practice. APMF 2024 positioned innovation as something to be questioned, tested, and applied with care, reinforcing the forum’s emphasis on responsible progress in an increasingly automated landscape.
Sponsors, Partners, and Ecosystem Support
APMF 2024 was supported by a broad ecosystem of industry partners spanning media, technology, telecommunications, and content platforms. Organizations within the Emtek Group ecosystem, including Vidio, contributed to content amplification and digital reach.
Media and broadcast support was reinforced by partners such as Kompas Gramedia, Trans TV, and Trans7, extending industry dialogue beyond the venue.
From the consumer brand perspective, partners such as Tehbotol Sosro supported on-ground engagement, connecting industry conversations with everyday consumer culture.
